The Shanghai International Football Tournament 2006

• 4-6 August 2006, Shanghai Hong Kou Stadium. US Sports Management, Inc. and IEP S & L, as part of football's new "World Series" together presented China's most prestigious 4 team football tournament in the City of Shanghai - the Shanghai International Football Tournament 2006. The exciting prospect of three world class club sides, including Manchester City FC, club Atletico de Madrid and Kashima Antlers, competing against top China Super League club Shanghai Shenhua provided a festival of football in the Shanghai Hong Kou Stadium. The Tournament had two double-headed evenings and a innovated new scoring system to decide the Champion. The tournament is with both national and global TV spectacle in 115 countries with audiences reaching hundreds of millions, and is supported by a major advertising campaign and numerous promotional opportunities. Atletico won the tournament by defeating Kashiam Antlers and Shanghai Shenhua while Fernando Torres is named the MVP.
